This is the question everyone wants the answers to. There are many ways to boast traffic to your site and i will talk about blogging.

What is blogging?

A blog (a portmanteau of the term “web log“)[1] is a type of website or part of a website. Blogs are usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. [wikipedia]

Do you feel your website gets less traffic?

If the answer is yes, then its time to include a blog section on your website. This will make a significant different if done correctly and updated on a regular basis. With quality content and information filled in your blogs, it is but quite apparent that visitors would get attracted to your site Once they find what they are looking for on your site then you are in for a winner.

So where and how do I start from?

This is another very important question, that i have had to deal with before. In my experience, i have devised a unique strategy that makes blogs very effective for SEO.

Few things to consider:

  • Think fresh, write latest and be specific.
  • Write about latest happenings in your business arena and be business specific.

  • I have always believed it proves useful to host blogs on your own domain, instead of a third-party domain.

Ok so you have good content talking about very specific and useful topics. What next? Blog Promotion. Yes, get the blog site optimized using effective Blog Promotion techniques. Other options like Blogrolling, using search engine friendly keywords in the content, getting a guest Blogger to write in your blog site and including book marking tools called Social Media Sites, to your website are few other useful tips to be followed.

And most importantly, read quite a lot and interact with many, to get more ideas and information. The more you interact with people the more you get fresh ideas and thoughts.
